Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I'm wearing the PrimeAlign™ Strap correctly?
Proper fit is crucial for the retraining effect to work. Here’s a quick checklist:
- Position: The strap should sit comfortably across your upper back (scapula area), not on your neck or lower back.
- Tension: It should be snug enough to gently pull your shoulders back, but never so tight that it restricts your breathing or causes pain. You should be able to slide two fingers comfortably underneath the strap.
- Cue: When you slouch, the strap should gently remind you to reset. If you can slouch freely without feeling the tension, it’s too loose. If you can’t move your arms at all, it’s too tight.
- Posture Check: Stand in front of a mirror. Your ears, shoulders, and hips should be in a straight vertical line. If you feel "pulled" forward or hunched, adjust the strap until you feel a natural, aligned posture.
Note: If you’re unsure, start with a lighter tension and gradually tighten it as your body gets used to the new position.
Will wearing this device hurt or feel uncomfortable?
Wearing the PrimeAlign™ strap should not be painful. It is designed to be comfortable and supportive, not restrictive.
Here’s what to expect:
- Initial Sensation: When you first put it on, you might feel a gentle "pull" or resistance as it cues your shoulders back. This is normal—it’s your body realizing it’s out of alignment. It should feel like a helpful reminder, not a sharp pain.
- Adjustability: The strap is fully adjustable. If it feels too tight or digs into your skin, simply loosen it slightly. It should be snug enough to provide feedback but loose enough to breathe and move comfortably.
- Material: Made with soft, breathable fabrics, it’s designed for all-day wear without chafing or irritation.
- The "Training" Phase: Just like any muscle training, your body might feel a little unusual for the first few days as it learns the new position. This usually fades quickly as your posture improves.
Can I wear it while working, exercising, or sleeping?
Yes, the PrimeAlign™ strap is designed to be versatile, but the best time to wear it depends on your goal:
- Working: Yes, this is the ideal time. Wearing it while seated at a desk or standing helps retrain your nervous system during the hours you are most likely to slouch. It’s low-profile enough to wear under a shirt if needed.
- Exercising: Yes, for low-impact activities. It works well for walking, light jogging, or yoga to maintain alignment. However, for high-intensity workouts, heavy lifting, or contact sports, it’s best to remove it to avoid restriction or discomfort.
- Sleeping: No, we do not recommend wearing it while sleeping. Your body needs to move freely to rest and recover. The goal is for the training you get during the day to carry over into your sleep posture naturally.
How long until I see results?
Results vary by individual, but many feel more aware of their posture within days.Because the strap retrains your nervous system, consistent use over 2–4 weeks typically leads to better alignment, reduced back pain, and the ability to maintain good posture naturally—even without wearing it.
